They say you get what you pay for and Milaka is a perfect example of this.
The problem is not so much how it works which usually is pretty good. However if you have a problem don't expect to get anything done unless you call them. I have sent 8 to 11 emails at any given time to try to get them to respond. If they had an 800 number it wouldn't bother me so much, but I pay for the phone call because they won't respond.
I have had it with these people. Perhaps they have such a minimal support staff at there offices that they just choose to ignore the majority of the messages sent to technical support.
Did I tell you I have had to talk their support people through the problem more than once to help them figure out what to do on their end.
As I said before, you get what you pay for. An even more important thought to consider concerning mailaka is let the buyer beware!!!
I have had mailaka for over three years. I go south for the winter and am able to connect from all locations. I have never had any complaints and the service is excellent. I have used AOL, Earthlink, Prodigy, Juno, Net Zero and have found Mailaka to be a much better value for your money than any of these other ISP's .
Dishonest! I tried Mailaka for a month and phoned to cancel. On the phone I was told the account was cancelled and I stopped using Mailaka and switched to a different ISP. Mailaka continued to charge my credit card for an additional month! I emailed their billing department about the error and "Chan" cancelled my account effective the date of the email regarding the credit card. Chan insisted that I didn't cancel the account earlier by phone (even though I made a long distance phone call to Mailaka). Mailaka could easily verify that I had not used their service (because I believed it was cancelled), but refused to investigate. Emails to Chan and the president of Mailaka were pointless. If you use this ISP, get everything in writing.
Stay away, Mailaka are dishonest!
I cancelled service with them just as they advised me in writing, and they charged me anyway, then refused to refund my money. Customer Service and Billing are in different states and when you ask one of them to help you they give the other phone number and back in a vicious run-around circle. Their billing person, Chan, displayed terrible attitude and lied about not receiving the numerous e-mails I sent personally to her.
The president David Allen ignored my requests for refund even though I provided him with written evidence that I cancelled on time to avoid charges.
Again, stay away, Mailaka are dishonest!
EXCELLENT!!! Price is extremely competitive. Speed and performance is very, very good. The customer support is very fast, professional, and courteous. I couldn't be more satisfied. An EXCELLENT choice for naviating the net. I HIGHLY recommend their services. BRAVO!!!
Very slow in speed. When connecting their speed always says, "connected at 45.2 Kbps but if you measure speed at McAfee speedometer I get speeds as low as 22.72Kbps. Their support dept which is located im MD not Maine like the hq will tell you McAfee speedo is not reliable. Never have I heard the support dept say anything was wrong with their service.
In responce to amp1276, the user violated the terms and services and the use policy posted on our front page and was temporarily suspended until use came back within acceptable limits.
While this company started out as a good value the customer service rapdily declined as they grew. I had this service for more than a year and I have now cancelled it when I was blocked from logging on and treated very unprofessionally. Save yourself the abuse and go with someone else.
I have had this ISP for over a year and I have absolutely no complaints whatsoever! I used AOL, Juno, Netzero, and Evelink in the past and this is as good, if not better than any of the higher priced services. I have recommended Mailaka to others and the ones who switched are very impressed with price and service. I don;t understand why anyone would pay higher prices for the same service I get from this company. In fact, it is better than AOL, as I have never gotten a busy signal nor have I lost my connection, problesm I constantly encountered with AOL. I am a devoted customer of Mailaka and recommend giving it a try! There is not even any time committals required if you aren't satisfied.
Been with them about 15 months or so, no problems whatsoever and have even referred a frew friends here and there - recommended.
